Long ago, Jesus issued a marvelously gracious invitation to follow Him. With those 2 words, He calls everyone to come and be His disciple.  By looking at Jesus' words, we learn what He means when He calls us to follow Him.  As disciples, we are called to bring good into other people’s lives. To that end, we are excited to continue an amazing opportunity to do that through our annual Miracles.

 Once again, the entire month of November will be A Miracle of Giving!  With all four weeks of November dedicated to the Miracles, we can make a greater impact on the growing needs of our community.   

A Miracle of Giving will serve families in the Mid-Ohio Valley through different giving opportunities: food bags for 60+ families, Emergency Day Bags for the Friendship Kitchen and North Food Pantry, and diapers/wipes for the Clothing Closet.  

Blessing our neighbors

We will collect food to bless 60 area families. Each family will receive 2 bags of non-perishable food and 1 insulated cooling bag with perishable items. 

Because no one should have to wonder where their next meal will come from, we’re partnering with the North Food Pantry and Friendship Kitchen to prepare 100 Emergency Day Bags. These bags will include essential, ready-to-eat items such as pop-top canned pasta, peanut butter, jelly, cereal or granola bars, and bottled water.

When purchasing, please refer to the list below for the needed items and package sizes. All extra monetary funds and food will support the ongoing work of our Benevolence Fund and the North Food Pantry.

 Caring Beyond the Grocery List

Basic necessities like soap, shampoo, toothpaste, and cleaning supplies can place a significant strain on a family’s budget. That’s why we’ll be collecting hygiene items and household cleaning products to help meet these everyday needs for those served by the North Food Pantry and the Friendship Kitchen.

Dollar Tree is a great place to buy hygiene and cleaning supplies. If you have a Sam’s membership, you can buy in bulk and we can separate the items to be given to multiple families.

Caring for Growing Families

 Caring for our community means caring for families at every stage of life. Diapers are one of the most expensive ongoing necessities for families with young children. To help ease that burden, we will be collecting diapers, wipes, and kids’ underwear for the Clothing Closet. 

Items needed

• Diapers size 4, 5, 6, 7
• Pull-ups 2T, 3T, 4T, 5T
• Wipes (sensitive skin)
• Kids’ underwear 2T–14/16

How to participate:

•  Bring items with you beginning Sunday, November 1 to the Welcome Center or drop off at the church office Monday-Thursday from 9am-4pm. We will collect items through November 22.

• Place an online order through the store of your choice and have it delivered to the church office (3109 Emerson Ave). It’s helpful if you let us know it’s coming so we can be watching for it.

• Monetary donations will help to purchase the perishable items, turkeys, and any additional food items needed for the bags.

  Monetary donations above and beyond our immediate needs will go into our Benevolence Fund.  This fund supports our Essential and Significant Needs Programs, the Food Pantry, the Clothing Closet, North Place Maternity House, and the Friendship Kitchen. To donate online, choose “A Miracle of Giving” from the drop-down menu under the Give tab.
