We are so excited that you are interested
in baptism!

Baptism is an outward expression of an inward spiritual change.  It’s a public declaration of how Jesus changed our life. Being baptized shows others that you’ve decided to follow Jesus and allows them to celebrate this decision with you.

“They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, along with everyone in your household.” And they shared the word of the Lord with him and with all who lived in his household. Even at that hour of the night, the jailer cared for them and washed their wounds. Then he and everyone in his household were immediately baptized. He brought them into his house and set a meal before them, and he and his entire household rejoiced because they all believed in God.”— Acts 16:31-34 NLT

Baptism doesn’t save a person; it’s a symbol and celebration of salvation. The power that brought Jesus back to life is the same power Jesus uses to change our lives.

“And that water is a picture of baptism, which now saves you, not by removing dirt from your body, but as a response to God from[a] a clean conscience. It is effective because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.” — I Peter 3:21 NLT

What You Need to Know About Baptism

I have accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior and I would like to be baptized!

Why should I be baptized?

1. Jesus instructs us to be baptized and set the example.

“Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations,[a] baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.”— Matthew 28:19 NLT

2. Being baptized is a public proclamation of your union with Christ. It symbolizes you have been buried with Him and raised to new life in Him!

For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives—— Romans 6:4 NLT

Who is eligible to be baptized?

Those who decide to follow Jesus.  If you have not made that commitment to know Jesus as your personal Savior, you can pray this prayer right now, wherever you are:

Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior.

Does North baptize children?

The answer is YES! If your child is in our North Kids program (Kindergarten and up) and has asked Christ to be their personal Savior and wants to be baptized, use the Kids Baptism Form to let us know. Our Kids Ministry Director will contact you to set up a pre-baptism meeting to discuss next steps. Younger children, along with their parents are encouraged to participate in Kids Jr. Child Dedication.

I have been baptized before, it was more of a decision made for me or it wasn’t personal. Can I be baptized again?

Only you can make this decision. We, at North, encourage a person to take the step of baptism again if he or she does not remember the baptism or it was not a personal decision.

Who can baptize me?

There will be a pastor in the water to officiate all baptisms, however, the person to immerse you may be any baptized believer you choose. Typically, it is someone who has played a significant role in your spiritual journey.

Further questions may be answered at a baptism class. If you have additional questions or are unsure if you are ready to be baptized, please contact us at info@northpbc.org and we will set up a time to meet with you.

What is the next step?

Follow the link below and complete the form. Once we receive your form, you will receive a call to discuss a plan for your baptism journey.
