October Newsletter

Hello Parents! It’s hard to believe that October is here and Fall is in full swing. September was a great month. We kicked off the new school year with the E2 Fall Kickoff, which saw over 100 students and parents come out for a great night of dodgeball. We also spent a Saturday at Camp Cowen participating in the WV Fall Rally where our students were able to worship alongside 400 students from across the state. We raised money for i12 ministries with our annual yard sale. E2 proceeds from this event will go on to help scholarship students to Summer Camp. Over the past month we have gotten back in the routine of weekly student programming. During September we taught our Tweens the power of Authentic Faith as we unpacked the powerful truth that God can Be Trusted. We spent four weeks encouraging teens that they have the power to hear God’s voice above all others as we Crashed the Chatterbox. As we say goodbye to September, we are so excited for what God is going to do this next month. We have several opportunities for students, parents, and volunteers to connect, raise money, and dress up. We have two brand new series beginning that will teach students the power of the gospel and how God works through the struggle. We’re ready for October!

E2 Family Day

We want to invite everyone to E2 Family Day on Sunday morning October 1st during both Tween and Teen services. Family Day will take place on Floor One and a pancake breakfast will be served. This is a great opportunity to experience what an hour of E2 ministry is like for your students. We will be talking about upcoming events, you can hear a message, and we will have a special small group just for parents.

Camps Announced

Camp Dates have officially been announced and registration is open. Students and parents can get register on floor one or download the paperwork from our church website and app. This year we are offering two different summer experiences for tween and teens along with our normal winter programming. Sign up now to guarantee your spot.

Budget Plan

With the cost of camp, we have come up with a new budget system to help families. You can begin a 9-month payment plan where you can divide out the cost of both winter and summer camps. For E2 Teen students that will be $56 a month and for E2 Tween students that will be $30 dollars a month. If that monthly payment is too high for your family, you can be a part of our financial assistance program and work fundraisers throughout the year to help offset the cost of camp for your student. For more information on this program, please contact Adam via email adammyers@northpbc.org

Current Series

This week we will be beginning two new series for the month of October.

For our tweens, we will begin a series entitled The Gospel Life. The gospel changes everything and changes us. During this five-week series, we will be helping middle school understand and gain a passion for the gospel and see how it changes and shapes their lives. We will learn important truths surrounding the topics of pretending, repenting, peacemaking, and reaching.

For our teens, we will begin a series entitled #struggle. As you scroll through your day, does it feel like everyone else has it all together? Someone always has the best job, cutest kid, or happiest relationship. We're pressured to measure up to other people's social media status updates and left with more #struggles. This five-week series studies what it's like to live a Christ-focused life in a selfie-centered world. Topics include finding compassion, authenticity, relationships, contentment, and rest among all the pressures and distractions of social media.

E2 Pancake Fundraiser

On Saturday, October 28th from 8am to 11am, we will be having a Pancake Fundraiser at the Friendship Kitchen. All proceeds will go toward sending students to camp. This is a great opportunity for you or your student to help raise money. If interested in signing up to help, please contact Pastor Adam today.

E2 Costume Parties

We will be having two great nights of connecting with students and leaders towards the end of this month. On Wednesday night October 25th and Sunday night October 29th, we will have our annual E2 Costume Parties. This is a great night for students to dress up, play games, eat food, and create great memories as a student ministry. Both parties will take place on Floor One. Please check the North App for times for each student group.

If you love staying connected to E2 Student Ministry, we would love for you to join our weekly parent email. Signing up is easy, just send an email to adammyers@northpbc.org and type “sign me up” in the subject line. You can also stay connected through the app and church website.

September Tween/ Teen Series

Tween - Authentic Faith
This series focuses on a correct understanding of faith. Confusion in this one area is the primary reason so many students abandon Christianity. True faith is confidence that God is who He says He is – and confidence that He will do everything He has promised to do.
Principle: God can be trusted; He will do all He has promised to do.
Critical Question: Do you trust God with the critical areas of your life?
Key Passage: Proverbs 3:5-6

Teen - Crash the Chatterbox

The Voice You Listen to Will Determine the Future You Experience...Crash the Chatterbox focuses on four key areas in which negative thoughts are most debilitating: insecurity, fear, condemnation, and discouragement.“What great deeds are in danger of remaining undone in your life because of lies that were planted in your past or fears that are looming in your future?”
The series will focus on how to silence the lies and embrace the freeing affirmation of God.

  •  Learn how to live out God’s truth no matter what is going on in your life or thoughts.
  •  Learn how to crash the chatterbox…and hear God’s voice above all others

Big Changes for the Fall

Starting September 10th we will be making some changes in student ministry. The first change is the fact that we have moved the 8th grade students into the Teen ministry. If you have an 8th grade student they will experience small groups on Sunday Morning at 11 and Worship Sunday Nights at 4:30. This brings us to our second change and that is the fact that Sunday night Teen service will be from 4:30-6:30 on floor one. Finally the Tween Sunday morning programming will take place in the gym from 9:30-10:45. If you have a student in the 5-7 grade you can drop off and pick up your student there. This is when Tweens will experience small groups and on Wednesday nights from 6:00-7:30 they will experience worship.

E2 Fall Kickoff

On Sunday night September 10th we will be kicking off the fall with an open house dodgeball tournament. Students, parents, and leaders are encouraged to bring a team of 5 and compete for Dodgeball champion. There will be food and drinks and parents will get a chance to hear about all the exciting things we have planned for the fall. There will be a table for families to fill out all the paperwork they will need for the year and begin scheduling important dates on their calendar. We will give prizes out to the best team, the worst team, the best dressed team and the most original team name. This looks to be a great night to kick off the fall and connect together as an E2 family.

WV Baptist Fall Youth Rally

We will be participating in the annual WV Baptist Fall Youth Rally in Cowen, WV at Camp Cowen. This will be a one-day event where students will get a chance to connect with other students from across the state. Pastor Adam will be speaking at the event. If your students have not had the chance to see Camp Cowen, it is truly a beautiful place. The cost for the event is $15 if you register by September 7th; after that the price increases to $20. We will be leaving the church parking lot at 7:00am and getting back home at 9:00pm that night. You can register for the rally on North Central.
